Easy Recipe: How To Make Asron Ka Sag Makke Ki Roti Recipe


The winter season is considered the best for food and drink. 

In winter there is abundance of greens and vegetables. 

If we talk about eating in winter, then the matter of mustard greens and maize ki roti is different. 

This is a traditional Punjabi dish. Adding desi ghee to hot mustard greens doubles its taste. 

In today’s article, we will tell you the method of making mustard greens and corn bread.

Preparation For Sasron ka Sag Makke ki Roti Recipe

Mustard greens – 400 grams

Spinach – 100 grams

Bathua – 100 grams

Tomatoes – 3 

Green chili – 2

Ginger paste – 1 inch

Mustard oil – 2-3 tsp 

finely chopped coriander

Maize flour – 2-3 tsp

Cumin – tsp 

Asafoetida – 1 pinch

Turmeric Powder – tsp

Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

Red chili powder – tsp

salt – as per taste

How To Make Sasron ka Sag Makke ki Roti Recipe

To make sarson ka saag, first clean the greens of mustard, spinach and bathua, break the leaves and separate them.

Now clean all the three greens with clean water and prepare the leaves by chopping them finely.

Now put mustard seeds, spinach and bathua leaves and half a cup of water in a cooker. 

Close the cooker and cook the greens till one whistle comes. 

After this, make a paste by putting tomatoes, green chilies and ginger in a mixer.

Now heat 2 tbsp oil in a kadhai. Add cumin and asafetida to it. When cumin seeds are roasted, add turmeric powder and coriander powder and fry it a little.

Now add corn flour to it and fry it while stirring continuously.

After this, add tomato, green chili and ginger paste and fry till the oil starts separating from the spices.

Now mash the greens in the cooker by pressing them with the help of a spoon. 

When the masala masala is cooked well, then add greens to it. Simultaneously add red chili powder and salt and mix.

Now add 1 cup of water and green coriander in it and let the greens cook on low flame for 10-12 minutes. 

Keep in mind that keep stirring the greens in between so that the greens do not burn. After this switch off the gas, greens are ready. 

Corn Bread 

To make maize roti, take maize flour in a vessel and make a hard dough by adding little water to it.

Now take out a little dough and mash it well for 2-3 minutes to make it soft. After this, keep the pan on the gas to heat.

Now make a roti by applying some water in the hands of the dough.

Put the roti on the pan and bake it well from both the sides.

Apply desi ghee of maize roti and serve hot with mustard greens. 

Pour some ghee and green coriander over the greens, it will make the greens more delicious.
